Could use a few prayers from my beagle friends-Updated

My oldest daughter has had spats her entire life where she will be talking (or eating), stop, roll her eyes up and then after a few seconds goes right back to normal. My wife and I knew this was going on but I guess we just ignored it or didn't want to accept the possility of a serious problem. A nurse friend of my wife noticed her doing this last week and kinda scolded us for not at least having it checked out.

Reluctantly, my wife took her to our family doctor today. I guess he seemed very concerned and would not speculate on the cause of the he used the term "mini-seizures". They immediately sent her to have a scan done and she was then refered to Childrens Hospital Neurology Dept for further testing. We have an appointment to see the actual Neurologist but not until August (which I thought was odd and not happy about). However, they did say they may move the date up after review of the scan (scares the heck out of me).

The world seems to stop when you are told your child needs to go to Children's Hospital...I have a lump so big in my throat right now that I can't do anything but type or the tears start.

Anyhow....keep us in your prayers, they say the lord can't give you more than you can handle....sometimes I wonder if I am the test subject.

If the "tics" have not worsened she has them under control.
Better to have them checked on now and monitored.
My niece progressed rapidly into a grand type and we explored all options from surgery, medicines and electronic inhibit controls.
Your family is in our thoughts and prayers, God knows our pain and worry over our children. He gave His only ONE for us...

Thanks Everyone....yes, they have gotten worse (more frequent) thus other people have started noticing. It use to be maybe once a day when she was tired, like in the morning. Now it is probably 5-10 times a day at random hours.

I keep thinking I am supposed to be the strong one but I can't seem to pull myself together to even go home and comfort her, she is scared to death.....I have a great sense of guilt for not addressing this sooner and allowing my own fears to over-ride common sense.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with you all! It's a scary thing for your child to be sick. My son had open heart surgery when he was 9. Thought I would lose my mind! I know how it feels! Hope all turns out good for you.

My wife had a gran-mall seizure about 18 years ago. Dr. said they are hereditary or caused by a bad lick to the head. They put her on dialantin and no more seizures til 5 years later she thought she didn't need meds anymore. Of course she had another seizure. Stays on meds now and no problems at all. You are in our prayers, Randy

When Jesus cried, "my God, why hast thou forsaken me", the whole world went dark.
Get a good cry out, and then pull up your boots an be the strong arm for your little girl to hold.
Children look to us for their strength and security, you must be the rock on which she stands during this time.
God must be your support to remain strong, an He will be there for you! It is not your fault.
Just know, we all cry and pray along with you. We are here when you need us.
There is much to read and learn about what is happening, being pro-active is easier on you than being reactive.
Study and don't be afraid to ask any questions of the Doctors.
Also remember, of the 247 students of the class of 77' that graduated, from top to bottom, they're all still called "Doctors", but not all are created equal.
Find the one with that, "can do" attitude.
All the best,
