Panacur is the safest wormer for puppies or pregnant females it just has to be done 3 days in a role to work properly.

gfedor,
I am in no way saying my way is the right way but I always breed my females before I breed them and then wait until they have the pups and then worm them again and after that I go back to my regular worming schedule. I always start worming my pups at 3 weeks old and so far I have never lost any pups to worms following this method.

I agree wih KY hunter the female should be wormed before breeding and then
no matter if the wormer says it is safe for the female I dont worm til the
puppis are born
