Took my home made long bow out on Monday. Three inches of fresh snow. Running was great. It was my first time out with the bow and I missed three times. Easy shots too. About ten yards each with the rabbit standing still. I'm kinda hooked on this long bow thing for rabbits.
Any of you guys hunt this way? How many have you got? How long did it take? Just curious. I don't care to shoot a ton of rabbits but i also have that instinctual urge to harvest. This seems to satisfy both. Plus I think it would be pretty cool to shoot a rabbit with long bow that your dog circled to you.

I only took the longbow out for rabbits once this year. I missed two shots, one by about 5 feet.....LOL!! Its a blast. I'm not into shooting a whole boat load of rabbits anyway. I shoot a few to make a few game dinners and so missing is not a problem. Shot a bear last fall with the lonbow last year. I'll attach a pic and a video of us guys shooting and goofing off in bear camp......Deerhost.
