St Jude Benefit Hunt

Post by Tsa la gi »

Barrineau Beagle Club, held a bebefit hunt, all proceds goint to St Jude Children`s Research Hospital. Over 7000 dollars was raised for the Children.
The Master asked the hunter`s at the morning breifing if I could video and every one agreed.I just had to make sure the best hounds were filmed first
There was lot`s of running, lot`s of hard work by the judges, lot`s of scoreing. I think I`m hooked on the Big Pack Trials.
All top 10 hounds qualified for the World Hunt next March. I will be there with my 10 th place Shantillie Lace Patched R. I entered 5, 1 scratched, 1 i forgot to enter although I got a no for her, two scored across the board but not enough to place. This a good place to run, lot`s of rabbits, half open half thick with drainage ditches runing through it.
Next year Benefit will be, I think, for The Ronald McDonald House. These are good causes and hope lots of folks attend.I`ll be there.
Barrineau Beagle Club Member`s thank you very much for a great time and enjoyed meeting each and every one of you.
Tommy Lee ,be sure you keep my room reserved for me :D

Congrats Charlie. Trialing can be a lot of fun. I've never tried the format you entered , but have had much fun in the trials I have entered. It's great to meet and run with new guys and see how your dogs compare. Good luck with future trials.

Thx 252, I get into this type trial, scored similar to the old fox hound trials. Split races no problem, you don`t catch the dogs move them 15 ft and turn loose again. Run 4 hrs. runnin 1 hr here 1 hr there, dogs run to much rabbit ya ya ya.I have been to half dozen or so and don`t go any more.
I like to meet other rabbit hunters also and have a lot of fun, just can`t get into that foremat, but to each his own. I handled a dog that couldn`t and wouldn`t run a rabbit 30 ft. Guess what now the dog is a FC??? And has pups all over the place.
When I go to the World Hunt, I may not do any good but I`ll feel good about it. I had a blast and didn`t even kick my hounds butt`s for not placein  . Hope more people get into this.
