I'm glad this is being done in your state! Sounds like a lot of fun, but sounds like a good way to wipe out the game population! Jmo

What's the difference? These same people would probably be out hunting in their own anyways. This just gives them a chance to end the day in comradre with fellow hunters, tell some stories while eating some good vittles, and maybe win a bag of dog food. I think its a great idea George. Good luck with it! If I knew of some places to hunt up there I might have been able to bring a couple of us from Grand Lake BC to support you good folks!

We do not promote the killing of lots of rabbits. We do not give an award to the team that brings in the most rabbits. We do not want a team to show up with a truck load of rabbits and if they do they do not get any awards or money. There are many other tournaments that do - we do not. I know of one in the MI U.P. where you win by bringing in the most snowshoe hare - we do not.

You receive 3 door prize tickets for each rabbit your team brings in - a MAX OF 6 RABBITS! If your team has 4, 5, or 6 members and you bring in the max of 6 rabbits I hope this will not put the cottontail rabbit on the endanger list. If you are 12 years of age or under you will also receive bonus door prize tickets. The youngest suscessful hunter gets a real large trophy by taking one rabbit. The oldest suscessful hunter will also take home a nice trophy. All hunters get a free dinner! The club can pay their $4400.00 yearly property tax to the township to run and train their Beagles on 80 acres. YES $4400.00 EACH YEAR! George

Doesnt your state have a timber reserve program or something that you could put your land into to not have to pay taxes? In Iowa any timber that you are not pasturing livestock on or planting crops on is eligible for tax exemption. $0.00 per year.
