Help fast 9 month bluetick dog Pic incl.

Post by bgalmania »

Help, I have a 9 month male bluetick that is very fast and I need someone with fast dogs to run with. Don't care if we kill rabbits or not just need someone who has some faster dogs so this male can learn to pack in. I run med speed and this pup laps mine. I live in Festus, MO which is 30 miles south of St. Louis, MO
Thank you.

Look up joeyman on here, he runs pretty quick hounds. If that dont work, send him to Ga, we have a opening in the kennel. :D Good luck with him.

i'm not really sure that will help your situation.
say you get him packing with the faster dogs. and maybe he likes the front.
so he turns it up a little more to stay there.

how is that going to help, when u put him back with your slower pack.

unless your going to a faster dog and getting a new pack.

i think getting cut up from the back would pull him back a bit.
but he might just not be the right breeding/speed to fit your pack.????

This young male will not be able to run with my med. speed dogs. Would like to see where he fits in on the faster dogs. Still looking for someone who has faster dogs that would be willing to help out.
Thanks,
Rick

If I was hunting a dog this young and he was out running my pack, he would be getting a lot of solo time. You already know he will pack, but what will he do by himself. This way you can watch how he runs a line, works a check area and his hunt. No pressure on him to make him have faults, that might get you picked up in a hunt. I know everybody say's solo time is pain, but a few times a week, helps them a lot. Just MO.

When I take this young dog out with the pack he runs way out in front of the pack. He is running it solo, not packing in with other packmates because of his speed difference. My other dogs cannot keep up with him. I am looking for someone on the east, north east or south east side of Missouri or the West side of Illinois that would be willing to invite me to run dogs with them. I am willing to meet you somewhere where we can run together. I am not interested in killing rabbits but if you want to kill that is alright by me. I am 54 years old and have killed lots of rabbits over my lifetime so you will not have an inexperienced hunter tagging along. Just looking for an invitation.

Thanks,
Rick

Maybe fellas are gun shy about their invites. Here is a little info on me, not looking for a date, just run dogs.

Born and raised in MO.
Been happily married 35 years
Have 4 children, 7 grandkids
Deacon in Southern Baptist Church
Currently employed with Dow Chemical Company
Have had beagles since I was a kid.
Hunt with a .410 single shot

Just looking to see where this dog will fit in on speed. I cannot run him with my other 3 but it is nice to see a dog with this kind of speed. Just want to see some other dogs run. Thank you.

Rick

Ps thanks MurphysKennel for the info. Hopefully the fellas in Neelyville or somewhere close will read this post and call or email me.

I live pretty close to you. i am in park hills (flat river).
you will have to supply the spot or we will have to find some state land.
i have trouble finding a good spot around here.
my dogs are med to medfast. my oldest one is 3.

There is a Trial in Neelyville this Saturday. LP they are faster dogs.
i will be going to it, so saturday is out.
i dont run or hunt on sunday as a rule. but only a couple times a year when out of town.
you are welcome to ride down with me and the wife to check out the trial if you like.
we leave early and its a all day thing most of the time, but should be home before dark.

Thank you Owl Creek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was beginning to lose faith in my MO beagler brothers. I have had contacts with the WV beaglers but none of my MO beaglers, until you stepped up to the plate. Please send me your ph. no by email and I will call you. If any of other MO beaglers that are on this board would like someone to go with and split the gas fees, let me know. Sure would like to meet you and see your dogs.

Thanks,
Rick
