A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
One thing I hate about hunting in Mississippi is these stretches of HOT WEATHER during rabbit season. This year looks to be a hot one. I love it 30 to 50 degrees with cloudy skies. A little drizzle doesn't hurt either but man I hate a blue bird 60 plus degree winter day down here! Hope y'all are having some great weather for run'n and gun'n where ever y'all are.
The next two weeks down here it will be seasonably warm..
Joeyman, I've been bizzy like you wouldn't believe. These kids are wear'n me out... Not sure how much I'll be on here but I'm try'n to make a point to get back on here and stay better connected but life sometimes makes it hard.
RunninHard, I'm jealous to say the least... Man I'd love some highs in the 30's for some run'n and gun'n. We'd hunt all day in those type temps.
Definitely too warm for serious rabbit hunting. We hunted this morning and at daylight it was already near 50. Dogs did great and a couple rabbits put on a show. Finally about noon the dogs and I had both had enough. When your socks are wet and you haven't stepped in any water it''s too hot to hunt!!! And I am in the NC mountains...........it's supposed to be cold here now.
