Just wondering what is the best arha little pack dog that you have ever seen run. And if you know what was its breeding.

Cody's Sharp Mikie: final cast VA State Hunt Grand Class

Crain's HH Red Jesse: semi-final cast VA State Hunt Champion Class

JRK A Touch From Heaven Angel: opening round 2000 World Hunt Champion Class

Crain's HH Smoker D: opening round 2000 World Hunt Open Class

Denny's Blue II: opening round 2002 World Hunt Grand Champion Class

All ran with a Dominant running style, as if they owned the other 4 dogs and the rabbit was theirs and theirs alone to run. They each had exceptional speed, nose, drive and ran the front and handled it. None were satisfied running second or less. They did what it took to get the front, then it was over. They each said goodbye as they pulled away.

lp dogs

Post by Big Dog »

I have seen quite a few good ones over the last two years but the ones that stand out in my mind are: Logan Elms Rocky and Well's Big Bomber. I watched these two grand champions run in the finals of the 2004 World Hunt and they simply pounded a rabbit and gave him no peace. It started out as a 3 dog cast and went to overtime due to a tie score at the end of regulation. They caught two rabbits during this cast and just simply pounded the whole time. I also saw a couple of nice open class dogs that could really dominate a track. Brankos Sling Shot, Whole Lotta Ruckus owned by Jeff and Mark Brown and the Rick Rack dog owned by Strike Jump Kennels are all awesome dogs as well.

Whatever happened to Cody' Sharp Jackson? Lynn Perkins drew out with him once when he was around 7 yr old and he said that he was tough even at that age.

Hey Mason,
Matt B. is Matt Basiletti and a good buddy of mine, I thank him for his comments. This is a tough one. Ive seen several I really like. I'd have to say Talkabout Code Blue is up there, Hicksters Intimadater(sp), John Davis's Luke dog, and Jay Herschberger's Buck dog....

Ramey,
Jackson is still alive and living in Wayne Waitts Kennel. In his day he could smoke a rabbit.

ok ive got a few not in any paticular order

Bruners Big Ben
Cody's Sharpe Jackson
Pine Mt. Chester
Triple J Joker
Dan the Crusher
Sammy Wells Bomber
Pine Mt. VooDoo

Just hard to break it down. I know Im leaving out some good hounds. All of these hounds stand out and do things I really like to see in a hound so it is hard to really say which one I liked the best.

I know there are a lot of good hounds that I haven't seen, but I've seen a few in 5 yrs of judging.

Here are a few that looked outstanding on the days I seen them, in no particular order:

Smith's Weedeater Tramp (Farrell Smith's Rudy Blood)
Smith's Weedeater Rudy's JR (Farrell Smith's Rudy Blood)
Denny's Blue II (Not Sure)
Choir Hill Bones (Not Sure)
Triple M's Ginger (Gay ?)
Smith's Weedeater Cody (Ace in the Hole/Turbo)
Browning's Sheyanne (Patch?)
