On Friday, November 25, I lost my bluetick beagle in Sterling PA. His name is Dexter and he has an orange collar with a name tag. Any help in getting him back will be greatly appreciated. My number is 570 698-5103.

Thank you.

Duane

Anyone have any advice on how to recover him? I went door to door to just about everyhouse and handed out a flyer.

Did you leave a jacket or a dog crate for him to go back too? Otherwise just going back to point of loss and calling everyday and beating down doors like you've done is a good way. If you have other beagles it might be worth getting them in the same area to start a rabbit....he'll like hark in right off.

I left a shirt with food on it for a week. I just picked it up yesterday. I park on a dead end road, and houses are within 100 yards of where I park. I have tried calling from where I park, and I also walked quite a distance. The problem I have is I don't know the vicinity that he is in since no one called. He was last seen about 5 minutes after he ran something he shouldn't have.

I placed an ad in the Scranton Times, and it will run for ten days beginning tomorrow (Tuesday).

I called the two sheletes in the area. One is in Honesdale and the other is Clark Summit. His collar has my name and phone number on it.

The area I lost him in is not very big (e.g. no way he could get lost), and there are alot of houses in the area. I went door to door to almost 100%, and handed out a flyer. Something is not right.

I placed an ad on the WNEP TV website that includes Dexter's picture.

It's trapping season in Pa right now. We had one caught the day after Thanksgiving in a fox trap. Lucky we were not far from her. Hopefully these guys are checking their traps daily. Hope you find him.

My friends dog was caught in a coyote trap on Thanksgiving day. Good thing he was standing right there and got him out of the trap.

I put up 15 posters today that included a color picture of Dexter. It has been over two weeks and no reported sightings. Something is not right.

I didn't want to post this, but it has been on my mind for two weeks. I am concerned that Dexter was shot on the day I lost him, and it happened less than 300 yards from where I park. He was accused of killing someone's chickens, and I heard shots that day from that property.

Really sorry to hear this PA Beagler, been watching and hoping for a better outcome. I have always avoided running by or on private property when possible because of the potential for trouble. I lost one a couple of ears back to horses, they kicked her ribs in after running a rabbit into the pasture. It's a roll of the dice whether we bring them home or not.
