A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
He is still on cloud nine. He couldn't wait to get to school today to tell his friends. This was the first game animal he has ever shot at. The doe came up on my side, so Jeremy had to ease his way to my side of the buddy stand. The doe stepped into an opening at about 30 yards and when he pulled the trigger the doe did the death kick and took off running. He couldn't see the deer when she fell, but I could and it was an amazing feeling for me as a dad. I had to tell him the doe was down and we had to wait a minute or two before we got down to go get her. He was so excited that I was worried about the both of us getting down the stand safely. Anyway, we celebrated with eggs and bacon for supper. He told his mom that if he killed a deer this year she had to cook him some bacon.

Congrats Jeremy. It doesn't suprise me at all. He's got a lot of talent. Way to go pops for keeping him in the woods.
I'm surprised he didn't throw a horse nugget at it. haha
Awesome!!! Tomorrow is the first day of youth gun season here in Ohio and my daughter is ready to redeem herself after last years performance behind the trigger.
