The hot weather will be gone soon. All the baby rabbits will be 1/2 grown or bigger. What will everyone be using for an excuse why there dogs cant run a rabbit for over 5 minutes......???

I'll tell the truth, Old Blue has such a strong nose all this high scent confuses him. He shows out in the hot dry conditions of summer.

1. Rabbits Are Wearing Scent-Lok....

2. The dogs were pounding that rabbit so hard he went "BOOM!!!" and exploded in mid stride....

3. That rabbit ran down a hot deer trail and my dogs won't run a deer.....

My dogs so fast he's done circled the rabbit five times. Just looks slow because you don't see well.

I just try to stay true. Mine are not worth a $hit. A good dog can run a rabbit any day or time. Not just when everything is perfect. But I dont have one of them dogs. Still looking.

Unfortunately, ours are like Lee's - just that the preacher in me wouldn't let me say it so strong. I do have one though that is a special problem. Ole Majic rabbit maker; his nose is so good that he tries to run 2 at a time - one with each nostril. We have to tape one side to keep him from running the one that went forward and the one that went backward. As the weather gets cold the tape won't stay on. ROWCO

Didn't need many excuses with Valentine, but for the rest I have a long list. Baby rabbit, Holed up, pregnant female that doesn't give much scent, went inside an old hollow log, rabbit jumped on a deer's back & my dogs won't run deer, barometric pressure is all messed up today,these males are being over competetive today because they've been kenelled by a female in heat,dogs have been sick the last day or two, your dogs are causing the breakdowns (said in a nice way), my dogs never look good in front of people, but when I'm running them alone they run check free, etc... the list goes on & on.

Excuse ? Hell mine just simply are not rabbit dogs,

I have seen one run a rabbit in a tobacco patch when it was 95 degrees and the bare ground was cracked open so bad from the drought people were afraid of losing the whole crop. I have seen one run down a rail road bed in the rocks when the others didn't even realize a rabbit was up. They were few and far between then and they seem to get more scarce all the time. I haven't seen a no excuses hound in a long time.

Ok, so I culled those......dont get too cocky, just because you have Ruby and I have 4 project dogs. Im launching an all out assult on the 13" females class........in 2013..

I haven't seen a no excuses hound in a long time.

Been a few years for me as well, but I have 4 new top prospects this year and Im foolishly optomistic that one of them will be it....if my wife knew I had $2,000 into 4 pups......

I have used this one before. We call it "All Tracked Up" and time to move to a new spot.
