Pregnate female please feel free to reply
My question is have any of you guys ever gave a dog albon within 2 weeks of her giving birth.i lost alot of pups last year to coxsidia and i have bleached all my kennels and do not have any sick dogs but gave it 2 her as a precaution.

Albon treats respiratory, urinary, intestinal infections, therefore is very hard on the kidneys “filtering”. Kidneys are already working overtime within a “pregnant” dog. Albon is known for causing birth defects, miscarriages and inducing abortions. There should be a warning on the label.
To be on the safe side, I would call a Vet and let him know the pregnant dog has consumed Albon, and get their advice.

your better off washing the female right after she has the pups. lots of bacteria from the afterbirth. also change the whelping box bedding and clean it also. lots of problems start with unsanitary conditions in the box. lastly, monitor her temp for at least a week so if she is running a fever due to infection from birthing you can give her antibiotics to control it. ammoxicillian at 200mg 2x per day for 2 weeks is your only safe choice as the pups kidneys and liver are underdeveloped at this stage. goodluck!
Throw me to the wolves and i will return leading the pack!
