I like Paratak Plus
http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/PARATP1 ... tegory=161 from vet-n-petdirect. Not sure what is the best or if there's a "best". I've stuck with vet-n-petdirect for years because they have super great customer support. I've seen others post wormers from places that seemed like fly by night operations ie site always down, can't contact by phone, and etc. One time I ordered from vet-n-pet and they were back ordered so they asked me how many I needed till the order came through. They sent me 10 tablets free of charge and my full order came a week later. I could have waited if I knew the order was going to come that shortly after but they got a life long customer for their effort.

I go to a local Tractor supply company (TSC) and buy the horse wormer. One brand name is Equimax. It will have 1.87% ivermectin written on the box. I usually will by the cheapest brand they have. Last time it was about $7-$8. Equimax was about $15. I just put a small dot , pea size , on my finger and wipe it on their tongue once a month. Fellow beaglers told me about it and I've used it for 5 years with no problems. Takes care of all worms and helps prevent heartworm. Lasts a long time for me. One syringe of the paste is good for about a 1300 pound horse. So a few 25lb. beagles don't use much.Cheapest way I've found that works for me.

I ended up getting the drontal plus generic brand. $93 for #20. Does that seem like a fair price....Nearly $5 a pill.
I read from previous thread that some give 1 every 3 months, some are giving every 6 months. For you that use it, are you giving it even without seeing any indication of worms as a preventative?

You can buy the generic drontal plus off of guys that adverstise on this board like chip eisenhut and others for less than 3.00 a pill. My vet is also one of my best friends and he sais if you want to be absolutely safe worm with it every three to four months but you can still get good results every six. I have been using it for two years now and I have seen a grand total of two worms in two years now that I am using it. And I check frequently. Good luck and always shop around. Understand too that drontal plus or the generic equivalent does not kill hearworms you will have to use something else for that.

I buy drotal plus generic from ped meds which is out of Canada and they have a 20 pill card which worms a 22 lb. dog and the cost is $22.00 for 20 pills and there is no shipping charge. I worm every three months with it and you do not have to fast a dog before you give it.
