Has anyone ever swaped pups from one female to the other... for instence I have one that had 6 and the other one only had one. They are just a couple days apart. Would it be ok to put a couple of pups with the female that only has one?

I have done this and it worked. Switch and see if the other dog will accept the pup.

I've done that also. Two fox walkers fostered by a cocker spaniel. Worked great.

I have done it also. I had two females that had pups 4 days apart and they had them in the same house and which ever female went in would let all the pups nurse her at the same time so I finally put them all on one female and dried the other one up and got her back in running shape sooner. And I have seen a female still pups from another female.

Were you able to determine which pups belonged to which female? Did you register them?

Just Curious.....

Yes I knew which pups belonged to each female and they were registered. One litter was open spotted and the other was blanket back.

I've done this and it is the best way to go for the puppies
need to keep track tho as they grow I marked mine with blue coat periodically
as they most always look similar in my litters
