Hey guys we here at CGS kennels have followed this forum for quite some time and have decided to put together a hunt this fall which gives stud dog owners and breeders a good challenge. The hunt we are talking about putting on will be for puppies 1 year and under. We will have two classes where we run males against males and females will run agaisnt females. It will have a 20 dollar entry fee with the prizes awarded as such. 60% of the money will go to the winning dog in each class 15% will go to the stud dog owner and 15% to the dam owner. 10% to the judges. This will give people a chance to see what is coming out of dogs and at Bluff Springs Running Pen you can see what is going on and there will be plenty of running. We are looking for some imput as to what format to have the dogs judged on for this hunt. We are not pushing any one format but offering to showcase young hounds and get them ready for trails.

Great for just a spectator to just go see the proof of stud and not jsut read the blown up ads on them!!

shawn are you runnin all the dogs dogs togather or in 5 dog cast.

It will be a weekend in September not sure of the date as of yet still checking on some hunt dates. The dogs will be run in 4 to 6 dogs casts again with male against males and females against female and depending on the amount of puppies entered. For the scoring system we will score stikes and checks and marks for outstanding hunt. The place will be in Glasgow, Ky at Todd Byrd's Running pen which has outstanding running and more than enough rabbits for each cast to run. NO dog will win on hunting and handling period................... It will be a great day of fun and we will try to video most all of the hunt and the finals for sure. I hear people on hear blowing this dog or that dog we will give you a chance to show what you have and not only that may be paying you to show your pup if you were to win the hunt. Come Get Some guys if you are interested let us know we will be running the hunt with what ever shows to enter.
The owners of the stud dogs will recieve their prizes as well as the dam owners whether they are present or not we will cut a check and mail it to them.

Shawn how about having 2 differnt classes 1 for 1 year and younger and 1 for 1-2 years old, i would have a few for the 1-2 year old class not got any for the 1 year and younger.

Right now now we are looking at one year and under it just depends on the respnse we get if the numbers are down we would consider bumping it up to include another class. Holler at all your buddies Eddie and lets get it going. My goal is to have one in the spring and fall to promote the best puppies out there on rabbits period. Spread the word and lets see where this goes boys.

My pup will turn 1 on August 22 hows that for luck huh!! sounds like something interesting for all the young prospects and their breeds Goodluck on the turn out.

Sounds awesome! I hope to be able to run my new pup then, he will be 11 months old in September.

i'm with eddie on the older class i have 3 right now but all are 11 months out of my ANDY and TWISTER dogs but they will be to old to compete in september,if u decide to do the older class let me no
