Who owns the 11 year old dog at the world hunt that won his first round? I heard he was one heck of a hound still full of grit and gristle..

I watched the old male run in the first round and it was amazing. He was in a cast with some really fast hounds and they had a big running rabbit out in the flats. I thought in the last 30 minutes they would gut the old hound but he didn't see it that way. It was funny because he was fast enough to get to the checks and do his thing. His owner told me that he had been running the dog 9 to 10 miles a night. I would like to have seen him go when he was about 4 or 5.

Do they visit the board? If not can you post a pedigree of that hound.
Thanks,

might be a different dog, but i had an 11 year old female in cast 24 of the champions that won her first round, had several people come to look at her later. might not be the dog in question, but thought it might have been, her name is, newsoms queen, she is still tough as nails, and has the speed to back it up. went out in second round and had no rabbit. thats my luck

that is great when you have a dog that can still perform at a high level at that age.

Well Lucky Strike your hound was paid the highest compliment in my book. I had a buddy tell me it was an awesome sight to see that old hound work.

I know those dogs. I actually owned one out of that litter. Blaise McDaniel was the breeder. On my papers they were born July 13 2001. They come from some great breeding. The sire “Slop Creek Happy” had a brother named Hill Top Buster IV who my friend claimed was the smoothest dog he ever seen run. The Dam “Brier Oaks Black Annie” had a really good pedigree. I really liked mine, but he was hit by a car in his prime. I am a little surprised that he would have enough foot for Little Pack, especially at that age. Mine was UBGF style in his prime, and on the slower side of UBGF at that. But, pups don’t always take after each other.
Mine was “Blue”, his littermates were Owl Creek Bailey Blue, Beavers Ridge Spot Tracker, Slo Mo True Blue, Gabriel Michael Howell, Brier Oaks Charlie, Brier Oaks Jewel and Brier Oaks Big Brutus.
I hope the old dog does some serious damage, Good Luck!

Dr. Chris this hound can still get up and go at 11 yrs. old. I was talking to a friend when the cast was being ran and he laughed and said, Well I don't mind getting beat by a rabbit hound and I have to agree with him. The dog put on a show.

remington that is cool too. just goes to show a rabbit dog is a rabbit dog no matter the age.
