Pedegrees Online

Post by KyRidgeRunner »

Does anybody know what is going on with the "Pedegrees Online" site. When I try to go to the breeds page it says I cannot connect to the server. :(

This was posted from the owners of Peds. on line last week (on another site).
Dear Users,
First of all, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience the website
has caused to you all. We are really sorry about that, and we understand
your frustration one-hundred percent. Since April 5th the website has not
been working at its full capacity. As some of you might already know, the
website has overgrown our current server. That is the reason the website can
only have so many users logged in at one time. Then, it locks up by itself.
We never thought the website would have so much popularity, that day would
come when the server could no longer handle all our users. At the time we
realized we had too many users, we immediately took action. So, we
contacted our server provider to have the situation solved. However, our
server provider would just give us answers that did not solve the problem at
all. After being with our server provider for over three years we had our
entire trust in them. But then the time passed and our server provider could
not solve the problem. It was a mistake from our part to trust our server
provider would solve the problem. We realized after a long time that they
were not going to solve the situation. The website grew too much that even
our server provider was not able to handle. However, with bad news there
comes good news. As we speak, we are in the process of moving the entire
website to a more powerful, faster and reliable server provided by a
different company. This new server will be able to handle all our users at
any time. The new server has twice the bandwidth, speed and storage
capabilities than the old one. However, we estimate that the entire transfer
will take us about five more days. We are hoping the website will be running
in its new server by Thursday night, but it could be as early as Tuesday
night. We are doing our best to speed up the process, but please keep in
mind that there is only so much we can do. Part of the job is also played by
our new server provider. So, once again we apologize for the inconvenience
this caused to you all. We have told you before and we tell you again you
will be given credit for all the days the website has been down. You will
loose nothing. The long wait will pay off at the end. The website will be
faster to download for those who have good internet connection. We guess
this is about it. Thanks for your patience and understanding on this matter.
Have a great day!

That's the end of their explanation. I just checked and the site is still not functional.
Take care
Mony
