There's probably other choices but NOT in this poll ... I thought this question might make for a good discussion .

Do I have the style I like, 3, not as much as I like!!LOL

I want a combo of 2 and 3. Pick it up and lay it down with control, don't we all though!!

good poll, to me the diffrence is do you trial where on bad scenting days the field is even between the other dogs your competing aginst or are you a hunter on bad scenting days the rabbit has the advantage because that is who you are competing aginst.jmo. im a hunter so i would sacrafice speed to have dogs that can get it done on the worst day.

I want a lil bit of 2 and tons of 3.

I would take allitle bit of all 3 but would have to be mostly 2.

Are talking about cottontail only? Hare? or both? Wouldn't you need a little bit of "1" mixed with "2" to run Hare in some places? Just asking...

I run hare and only hare and have no need for anything close to the #1 choice. I want all of #3 and then some with #2 showing up only when allowed. My choice of style? Gundog. Kurt

i agree with kirconcrete and fulcount. you should never need any of number 1, if you want a rabbit dog.

i like # 3 the best of these options . but some days i have #2;s mixed in there lol.

Sorry guys but there's only 3 choices in the poll . #1 , #2 and #3 ... not a mixture . I'm sure if #4 said A perfect beagle a few of us would have went for it and we do strive for it but I think in the long run we'll fall just a tad bit short . As far as which terrain , rabbit or trial , NKC , AKC , UKC , cotton tail or hare you can use your own imagination and tell us what the difference would be if you'de want .

Jude, your poll seems a bit skewered to favor choice number three. However, If choice #3 ran with Choice #1, it would NEVER get the front end because you said #1 intends to get the front end at all cost. Therefore, all things being equal, if a person wants the front end and considers 2nd. place to be like "kissing your sister", then I have to go with #1. JMO

I tried to make the post so that everyone including but not limited too - trialer , hunter , pleasure runner , AKC , UKC & NKC all have a choice . My choices are as fair and wide based as I could think to make them . I've seen places and days where #3 would destroy #1 and vise versa . #1 would probably fair well in some NKC LP trials but would also be thrown out in most AKC Midwest trials . #3 and #2 would probably fair better in AKC Midwest and UKC , although it's often depending on the running conditions and terrain you run them in . Also many people wouldn't want to run a hound that runs a 7 or less in speed . There's also days when #2 would look like a million bucks against #1 & #3 and vise versa . Just because a hound can take the front it doesn't mean it can keep it or take the next turn . I do respect your coice of #1 as there is no wrong or right choice it's just a preference to each individual .
