What Shotgun "and shells" do you use?

What kind of shotgun do you use for cottontail and hare hunting, and what size shells. I used a 12 gage Ithaca for years, but a few years ago I switched to “the same model” but to a 20 gage. The only thing I really notice a big difference in, is those really long far away shots. But I’m thinking about changing the shells that I use to help with that.
I thought about going to this gun, do you think it would be an over kill?

i use a encore pistol in 410. don't have any trouble hitting them.

Remind me not to draw against you, Wyatt! Seriously my hat's off to you if you hunt with a pistol.
I have a 20 gauge modified lightweight Franchi that I've used forever. Probably as light as your pistol. It's not much on the really long shots either but I've found a big part of gunning rabbits is finding the spot and waiting for the rabbit to come to you - not many long shots that way- sometimes I even have to shoot slightly in front of them to keep from mangling them if they get right up on me. Toting anything bigger was just too tiring for my poor little 5'4" ladies body when I was afield all day. Any #6 shells will work for my kind of shots.

Springfield .410 pump, Federal 3" 11/16 oz #6. its an awesome combo!

I use Charles Daly auto 20 gauge.Shells Estate high velocity hunting load 2 3/4 inch. 1oz.shot #5 shot can kill a rabbit at 60 yards.

you got to try a pistol lots of fun.not hard plus you don't have a long barrel in the brush.

Benelli M2, black synthetic 24 inch barrel 20 ga. with 5 and 6 shot Golden Pheasant shells. Benelli is pricey, but like carrying a stick it is so light!! Great gun DOES NOT help my pee poor shooting habits!!

I use an old Smith&Wesson auto 12 gauge must be 40 years old.I usually just shoot any kind of 6 shot works fine for me.

but want a Encore .410 not sue if i should get a 12" or 14 " barrel.

Commache 4/10 pistol Have more fun with that than i can stand #6 shot 71/2 when i can find them I like to make a sport out hitting them bunnies
