Re: Sport dog 2500 Pro series
Yea, I just upgraded to this from the SD-800. I have a lab that i hunt/trial and the 800 did great for me but when I got into hounds I needed a collar with better range and the capabilities of having multiple dogs. The Pro hunter 2500 works great for me! Range is great, levels of stimulus is great, holds great battery life. Now here are some cons; it only has tone on one or two dogs, and the antenna is long which when connected to the transmitter makes it quite long. In fact, my antenna started to break in half cause it would get snagged on things.
So Overall, for the price ( I got it for 220) it is well worth it! As long as you can just be mindful of the antenna you should not have any problems with it.

if you run a lot of dogs go with the 3200 or 3225.. 6 dogs a vibrate and an extra mile using smaller gear is a benifit
God isn't real, Beer is good and people are crazy, there I fixed it.

Re: Sport dog 2500 Pro series
I got one a few weeks ago. So far its been great, (stated) 1 1/2 mile range but I know it can do over a mile. Had the wife take it up the road to see if it would really reach out there. NO, I DIDN'T SHOCK HER!
She held the collar itself to see if it turned from "flashing" to "solid red". Almost 1 1/4 miles away but not bad terrian, pretty much flat.
Pros: Its hard to beat for the $, Good range, and keeps a good charge.
Cons: Does not have "tone" unless used with 2 or less collars. Buttons are not "color" coded to each collar (so you have to remember which dog your shocking). I bought extra collars in different colors, then matched them to the "order" of dogs I was running. Basically made me a "cheat sheet" and taped it to the side.
All in all I was very impressed with it, even 2 of my buddy's bought them one. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to SD-3225, but for the price of the 3225. I would just go ahead and get the trash breaker..........JMHO!

Re: Sport dog 2500 Pro series
I got one and I really like it. I only have 2 dogs so I am able to have tone on both. The bulk and weight of the transmitter is my only complaint. When I'm hunting its not so bad because I have a vest with a pocket made for long transmitters. Its when I'm running in the off season it bothers me. Feels like its pulling my pants down so I end up carrying it.
When I get more dogs I'll upgrade to the 3225. I like having tone on all dogs.
