I just got an 11 year old son of comanchee tracker and he's like the last one I got. He won't breed. I got a concoction from a friend of mine that works, as far as libido goes, but it didn't help as far as sperm count goes. The formula, if anyone is interested is Yohimbee, saspharilla, gensing, cayenne, garlic powder and bee pollen. It sure did increase the sex drive, but did nothing for the sperm count. Does anyone have any ideas how to increase a dog's sperm count? Chris

WOW!!! Now there is one STIFF drink. I bet it was Hard for the hound to swallow that stuff. I understand the Yohimbe but what was the Ginseng for? Was it in case the hound couldn't remember what to do?
On a serious note though I do not know if there is much to do to increase sperm count. A better approach might be to breed the male to the female as close to her ideal time as possible and as many times as possible. Hot pepper and garlic..talk about spicing up your love life...I bet she wouldn't kiss him. Good luck with your hounds. I just thought of something else...Saspirilla (sp?) isn't that the drink that the sissy cowboys used to drink just before the other ones looked at him funny? Maybe that is the wrong ingredient for what you are trying to accomplish. Maybe you got him all hopped up and then got him looking for another stud dog! Bee pollen......honey here I am!! Just a thought!

Chicken Fighters breed old to very young. Try that. Find a real good fertile young female and breed to him. Remember it only takes about six or seven good ones out of millions...lol

I had him in a pen with two bitches in heat. One is two years old and the other one is ten years old. He wasn't interested in either one of them. I haven't given him the concoction yet., but it did work on the other male as far as sex drive is concerned. Strange that you mentioned chickens. My friend that I got the concoction from got it out of a magazine for cock fighters. It said it would increase the tetestrone in cocks and make them more agressive. As far as being hard to get the hound to swallow it. I only put one half a teaspoon in his feed. As a matter of fact a couple of friends of mine are thinking about putting some of it in capsules and trying it.

This sounds like on of Stick's recipes. If so, did he get it from one of those Root doctors deep in the Louisiana Bayou? I'll talk to him tonight. I know of a hard going dog not far from here that could use some.

run the male before you breed him

Injectable B-12 daily will help. when dogs get older there stomach lining gets thinner and does not absort B-12 from the foods and red meat like it once did. If you inject B-12 in the muscle and maybe some liquid vitamin on his food (RED CELL ) this will increase B-12 and Iron. also wheat germ oil is another aid in breeding. These are both used in horses.
I have had litters out of old males that couldn't even go through the motions by treating them with B-12. they actually produced pups!

from my experience it worked best to give vitamins like these at feeding time.

have you tried manual placing the male on the female and helping him get going by ejaculating him to start the breeding. I have had to do it before as long as the female will stand. Can also go the more expensive route with AI, think it has to be from an AKC approved vet though ???? good luck

Ny Hillbilly, any Hillbilly worth his outhouse should know that ginseng is for lovers! There are all kinds of supplements in tablet form at the local WallY World with all the same ingredients that have been mentioned above. THey come in various tacky names that are descriptive of the intended purpose, but nothing I know of claims to do anything except increase drive. The idea of breeding to the youngest sounds most feasibe to me, though. Has anyone discussed lately how many eggs a female releases as opposed to how many usually get fertilized? Sounds like a q. for Doc S.

I stand corrected! It was "Ginko" that was the erbal memory enhancer and not "Ginsing". I am afraid perhaps my memory could use a little Ginko itself theses days! I bow to your superior knowledge in drinks for sexual disfunction but do take issue that somehow all hillbillies should be as well briefed on the topic as you. As far as my outhouse goes I will continue to use it for the same purpose as always (if I can remember where it is now) and with the help of Ginko I will remember. You on the other hand can continue with your preferred concoction and can continue to use your outhouse for other past times. I would suggest however you consider thinking about renaming your "Out House" to the "Wood Shed"!!!
