Been looking for a place to buy a pone of cracklin. When I lived in Mi I would get a big pone from a butcher break up and mix it with my feed.good hand full a couple times a week is plenty,to much gives them the runs.

Wal-Mart sells it by the bucket , in the frozen meat section. Never used it before, thought i'd give it a try.

Mike,

Might be the (protein to fat) ratio in the dog food??
I had a dog a few years back that could not metabolize 24/20.
Hard to keep weight on.
Switched back over to 26/18, and she looked great.

good luck,
andy

I read a post that suggested peanut butter (table spoon each day) to put weight on a dog. It is a great source of protein for certain.
