If I was looking to get a female out of a good Patch line who would you guys talk to?? Probably would be looking for an unstarted pup but possibly a running dog.

On style I like what I understand to be a Midwest type of hound. I used to get my dogs from a guy that ran Progressive Pack up here but decided I like a dog that is just a touch hotter than most of the dogs I saw in that format. I don't want a track straddler but I don't want a dog that is swinging all over the place either. Run the line/rabbit, close it's mouth when it should, work a check from the inside out.......start at the point of loss not run over the end and swing around trying to grab the line way out somewhere else. I don't like my hounds to be very rough I guess is what I'm getting at, I like them to be under control when they are running.
Speed is gonna be an upper medium speed. Again I'm not looking for anything too flashy but on the other end a flat medium speed dog is a touch too slow for me. If you consider the dog a good "puppy trainer" then it's probably a little slow for my taste.
As for size I like em to be around 13"-14". If they do everything else like I want then I'll take em a little bigger or a little smaller but generally I prefer them around that size. I don't trial so I don't get real worried about exactly what size they are although I don't want to get into dogs that are going to go over 15" either.
I hope that explains what I'm looking for.

To me buying a pup for $200 to $300 over a bitch thats a broke rabbit hound that can produce a good litter of pups for just alittle more , just seems the way to go , atleast IMO !!

You might want to talk to hookset or freeman beagles. That's who we got our patch dogs from. I know Ray has several litters that are close to being weaned.
