I have been known to be a bit picky throughout the years with hounds, so I am going to give them some positive credit for some things that they can do. If you sit back and think about these little hounds, there are many things that are quite amazing.

What amazes you about these little hounds? I will give you one to start some conversation... It amazes me that these little hounds can differentiate between a rabbit that they have already run, and a fresh track even when they have been running in the same area for some time.

I could go on about what amazes me, but what amazes you?

What amazes me is the heart most have they will abuse their
bodies and run even when hurt just for the smell of a Rabbit/Hare

I would surely agree with the heart with most. It amazes me as well, for example, that a hound will run full speed into a briar thicket after a rabbit. Desire/heart.

Their adaptability and eternal optimism. They will go through anything, eat anything, sleep anywhere...just to be with you and part of the game, because whatever it is, it promises to be fun.

I think not only their drive and desire to hunt is amazing but how well dispositioned they are as well. One of the many things that amazes me about these dogs is how in the woods on a rabbit they hunt and sound like viscious rabbit killers, but when they are at home in my house they are the sweetest dogs on the face of the earth. Very well mannered, and gentle with other people, expecially with my mom when she visits. I really did not know how having house pets that hunt would work out, but with these dogs it has been better then expected.

It All amazes Me how they can PACK all that in Such a Small package!!!

Surely, beagles must be smarter than people.

How they can make you so MAD and then So happy all in the same Day!

When it comes down to it, it is quite amazing that they can smell where a rabbit has touched the ground. How many people do you know that can do that...while they're running no less!?

It's AMAZING that they do everything they do while we keep trying to help them, fix them and make them better. How they overcome that and still do all the other AMAZING things is beyond me.

It is amazing,That every time I brag on my dogs they do something stupid.

It amazes me at how forgiving they are...........how many other s do you know would want to give you love and kisses after you have made them crawl thru briars all day causing their ears and tails to bleed??

Seriously though, I can always count on my muts to climb in my lap at the end of a hunt and want nothing more than to lick my face and be petted. Makes even a bad hunting day a good day.

It amazes me that after I judge them on every move they make; they don't judge me for anything. Truly mans best friend.

It amazes me when your at a trial and just as the judge calls time how they will always jump a rabbit. lol

Here is another one that I think we all take for granted. It amazes me that they can run a rabbit full tilt through a woods and never run into any trees!!!! Really, think about it, they are using their nose, eyes, body, etc. Jumping over logs, dodging trees, limbs, etc. Amazing athletes.
