Anthony Kerr and I will add 2 youngsters to the line-up in the morning. Gentlemens Mona Lisa and gentlemens jesse james, they are off cedar row blue blazer and pine mtn freebird, or birdie as she is called. We can't wait to see on a real hunt. The others in the opening day line-up are smokes creek buffalo bill, gentlemens red hot charger, gentlemens little red pearl, and cedar row jubal early. Charger and pearl are chester breed and jubal in off of reject, and bill's smokes creek background needs no introduction. Hope we can get into a few tomorrow.

Pete I can't answer for the others but it sure means a lot to me to know Chester is still running rabbits through his offspring. Keep us posted and good luck.

Will do, Bobby. I love the Chester stuff we have. Charger is the real deal. Pearl's not bad, and of course Birdie can get it done. We have 5 pups with Chester in'em that are ready to go to the starting pen any day now.

I for one am chomping at the bit. Might just go into the local feed store and cause a ruckus first thing in the morning.

All kidding aside I hope we can get in a few to get the young ones a taste of rabbit. We are both leaving some pretty good dogs at home. It will be some heavy protesting early tommorrow morning from my pens.

Our pack of youngsters today jumped 4 rabbits and ran them very good. Better shooting and we could of had some rabbit for supper. All in all though I was extremely pleased with the work the dogs put forth. Buffalo bill had a great day and to me was the mvp of the hunt. Very proud of gentlemens Mona Lisa and jesse james this morning, they hunted good and ran extremely well for their first gun hunt.

Ty, we had a great time. Anthony had his chest poked out after the hunt because he was so excited about his young female, and I don’t blame him. She's going to be a very good dog. My pearl gyp and my youngster jubal both had a pretty good day. I saw jubal turn a couple of lines on a dime. He may never do much in the trialing world, but I can say that he is going to be one hell of a gun dog.

Shame on you and Anthony for leaving all them other underpriviledged hounds at home.. How are they ever going to amount to anything... LOL Glad to see ya'll did well.. Only problem we encountered yesterday was of the "Grey" variety and I've always said that those wylie jokers were more of a headache than deer.. We did find out the bigger the rabbit the better the run.. Only folks I know that might have had as much fun were the crappie fisherman on the Eno. They're catchin em by the buckets full.. Dadgummit now I done went and got my self hungry.. Maybe this is the year we get together and do a hunt or two.. Call me sometime if you have a opening for me and one or two of my plugs.....

That was a good opening day for me. I really like the way we did that. It gave us a chance to see how the young ones were doing up close. I was really proud of Pete's dog Jubal, he made some nice turns while I was watching also. My year old female Mona Lisa seems to have one of those voices that you can pick out when you can barely hear the others. She had a few memorable drives that I was thinking about quite a bit while I was watching football yesterday. It was only a 4 hour hunt, but it was action packed. I love some rabbit hunting.
All of our dogs hunted pretty much the whole time and we never touched our transmitters. The funniest part of the day was right at the end. Some deer hunters had dropped a pack of dogs in the block we were hunting, so we quit and loaded our dogs up. One of our guys left his truck door open and a big old Red-Ticked Walker hound jumped right on in and at first did not want to give up his new found dog house. Charlie finally was able to persuade him out after a good talking to. We don't think he had a valid NC drivers liscence anyway.

Does not suprise me at all. Bill is a nice Hound. I have judged him several times he is a good one.
Our young pack pounded. Beleive it or not we was in deer all day never ran one. I was wondering several times. But they pounded all day. Reggie pups sure looked good! JMO
We jumped 11 killed 9! One of the best days I have had. Should have took some pics. But maybe next time. Forgot the camera!

Pete, Anthony, and Lee I sure wish I could get a chance to get down that way and run or hunt with you all. Maybe one of these days I'll get the opportunity.
