It is great feed. The best hands down. Keeps em shining and you dont have to feed as much to keep in good shape.

Very good feed , just be carefull for 2 reasons.
1. do not overfeed, they will blow up like balloons
2. I believe the kibble is small, ans some dogs will not even chew and swallow, which could cause digestive issues, whenevr I feed small hi protein kibble, I add in dog chow, to cut the protein level and increase the kibble size,so they actually chew.

Their claim that "the number 1 ingredient is chicken" is a little misleading. What they're not telling you is that is the precooked weight of the chicken, after the chicken is cooked it falls way further down on the ingredient list. I used to feed it and really liked the results but it is way overpriced. I've found food that I think gives you a better bang for the buck JMO.

Joey, I like the food a lot. Haven't found a perfect feed yet. What I like about is it's hands down the best as far as cleanup goes. My dogs have a ton of energy on it. They have good, shiney coats on it. Downside is I have a hard time keeping weight on them. ( but this goes for every feed I've fed so far). Really didn't want to overfeed this food because of the high protein, cost, and have heard too much feed will give you loose stools. The cost isn't as bad as you think. I compared black gold(black bag #50 $26), arkat enhance profesional athlete(#40 I think, $29), and purina pro plan performance(#37.5 $40-45) bag. Even though it cost the most and had weighed the least, it had the most servings(114) Black gold was the biggest bag, was the cheapest, but had the fewest servings(99). Final results were $.26/ serving bg, .27enhance, .29 pp). All foods give good stools just had the most with black gold. My dogs preferred enhance the most followed by pp, and they didn't care for bg but would eat it if that's all there was. I did all this by hand so some human error could come into play but wouldn't b by much if any. I'm currently trying red flannel food, just got on my second bag so I haven't had time to decide. If I don't like it I plan on trying pride. Chris and Laura have fed pp before and they recommended I try pride.

I feed proplan adult chicken and rice. The performance is a little to much for my pack . I run about an hour and half six days a week.

I tried my dogs on this feed, they just didn't like it at all. Stools were good, shiny coats weight good, but my usual inhale their food dogs would just sit there and look at the full bowl when I fed them. I recently lost my male to a car accident so now I have a 3 1/2 month old pup and a 1 1/2 year old. I'm gonna try and see if I can get them eating this again so I only have to buy one bag at a time.
If they would have liked it, I would still be feeding it.

I have been feeding it to my dogs for almost a year. They have lots of energy, shiny coats and stool is usually
wolid which makes clean up easy. It cost more than some dog foods, but your dogs are atletes and work very
hard for you and need a quality dog food.
If you sign up at the Purina website they will send you a monthly coupon where you earn rewards points. For
every $100 bucks you spend you get a discount that you can use for more food. I found PetCo and Pet Smart
to be the cheapest and they usually have the pro plan on sale. I use the purple bag. Pro Plan All Life Stages.

I have been feeding Pro Plan for a liitle over a year now and have been very satisfied. I mix the 30/20 purple bag with a bag of the 28/16 chicken shredded blend and it seems to be the perfect balance for maintaining weight on dogs as well as performance wise. I feed 7 dogs, and I just sent in all my weight circles that I have been accumulating over the last year, so should be getting a bunch of the $7 off coupons which will help with the cost of the stuff.

I really liked the idea that the main ingredient is chicken but got tired of paying a dollar a pound, and I didn't want to mess with the weight circles (that's stupid and a pain in the butt). I also didn't like the fake chunks of chicken, it's creepy!! I found diamond natural that advertised the chicken thing too, so I switched to that because it was slightly cheaper. I liked it but I started reading food comparisons online and found out that neither food had chicken as the true main ingredient, plus, diamond is responsible for a lot of dead pets. My friend was feeding his squirrel dogs Hi Standard and liked it so I thought I'd give it a try, I haven't noticed any difference in the coat, energy, or stool quality. I've been feeding it for over a year and actually started selling it myself. Again, it's probably not quite as good as Pro Plan if you were to have a nutritional study done, but I sell it for $22 for 50lbs and that's a whole lot better than $37 for a 35lb bag but to each his own.

Is that stuff in stores really 45 bucks a bag? Ive never seen it in stores other than where I get mine. This is the best feed out there but Im not gonna be able to afford it. A couple guys I hunt with said it was high and everyone on here has said it was too. I like the 12 points a pound for the circles but I guess in a couple years I will back to buddy boy if they still make it. I havn't seen it here in Alabama.

Really not trying to overcomplicate things but a few things to remember. You buy by the weight( pound), but you feed by volume(cup). Each dog food varies on how many cups you feed and is ultimately based on kcal's. Equally weighted 50 lb bags serving the same cups For each serving can still have different amount of servings in each bag due to the different densities of kibble. I was goin off memory earlier and realized when I put math to it I was off on my numbers, wish I'd wrote it down. I do remember there was about 3cents a serving a day between the 3 foods. 3 cents x 30 days is $.90/month a dog.
