I have finally figured out why running dogs is so much funner than deer hunting!! ITS FUN!! There is nothing better than hearing your pup pound on mr. Bunnies back side!! After waiting for my pup for almost a year for the cross then another six months waiting to be ready to start then when you hear it open for the first time it is just so much fun this has been like watching my boy grow up!! This is the first pup I have ever raised as a pup and started and gotten running and I now realize that deer hunting is now on the back burner!! Running Mr. Bunny is the best!!

I had that same feeling as boy almost 40 years ago. I didn't raise the pup my dad was a deer hunter and he was keeping some beagles for a friend of his while he moved. 1 young male that was already running deer, 1 old female that would only run a rabbit and 6 pups a few months old. He told my dad to run'em like they where his and I messed with that old female and those pups around the hog house, there were a few rabbits there and I got 2 of the female pups started before he was ready to get them. Well he left me the one that my dad told him was my favorite and I was hooked and have been every since. Never have cared much for any other kind of hunting, to tell the truth never have cared much about huntin just love to run my beagles.

I got some buddies that love to hunt'm though.
