Sportmix...any problems?

I recently started feeding Sport Mix this summer.
I fed the high protein 26/18. The dogs did well on it.
I bred 4 females and all 4 had trouble keeping milk?
Therefore I lost most of the pups, bottle fed a litter, and kept the last 2 mothers on cottage cheese and milk replacer.
**Has anyone had any trouble with milk production when feeding Sportmix??
In the past i've fed Diamond, or Retriever and have had no problems.
It was hotter and more humid this summer too.

The last 10 years I've switched back and forth between Sportmix and The Pride, never had any problems.
Fluids are the key to milk production, I'd guess the extreme dry and heat had something to do with it. I always put calf milk replacer over the bitches feed while she milks pups.
Sorry for yur loss.

Lone Pine, I also feed sportsmix, 24/20. I had a few litters here this summer with no loss or problems. In fact instead of puppy chow, I ground up the sportsmix when I weened the pups with great results. I always put my females on milk-aid by Happyjack as well.

No problem here with Sportmix. In fact, I no longer feed my pups puppy chow, I feed them Sportsmix and they do well on it.

Same here!
I have two pups that are as fat and slick as any I've ever owned.

Lonepine. I feed SportMix 26/18 For well over 15yrs now ,no proplems. Dogs living well into 12-16yrs.
Try giving Tubs Extra calcium the last day of gestation and after whelping, it serves 2 purposes bitches use calcium during labor with contrations and milk production. sometimes it calcium drops to low. Hope this helps
