Here is a question you were probably never asked before(lol).Excuse me,I even made myself laugh on that one.Anyhow,I need to buy a shock collar and need your opinions on the way to go for my beagle.I see that we have many choises out there on the market and to keep me from making the usual mistake of buying expensive junk and losing the reciept and therefore,can't take it back,I humbley ask you for your ,did this,and done that experience.Thanks in advance.....Ray

well there is some good collars out there, you should either go with the tri tronics beagler or the classic 70, they are both nice units.

If your looking for a good one at a resonable price I got the Dogtra 202NP two dog unit smaller than the tritronics works great . Check it out at Plunketts Kennel supply. You caint go wrong with either one just stay away from the cheap stuff like innotec and get a good brand to start. The dogtra also has the nmhi batterys and the pager feature.

I have a Classic 70 3 dog unit. I have had it a couple of years I guess and had no problems, works great! I have been told that the new Classic 70 is even nicer since you can charge all collars from one charger and they have an on/off switch now, and a louder tone.

Something you may want to keep in mind. I dont know how Dogtra handles lost collars.....but if you are buying a 2-3 dog unit make sure to call Dogtra and ask them the cost to replace a lost collar. TriTronics has a good deal on replacing lost collars and an excellent service department for warranty work.

I have been wanting to try a Dogtra 3-4 dog unit......but as expensive as it is I hate to change from a product I know works nice.

Make sure you get a collar with plenty of range.Remeber the terrain,landscape,trees and etc. can affect the collars range. you also need to consider getting a 2-3 dog set so that later on you will not have to buy another set.Better to have too much than not enough.
