you need Tresaderm ear drops. Put two drops per ears everyday for a week. skip a week then repeat. Try jeffers.com they may carry it.

google it

probably has ear mites

.5 cc of 1% ivomec in each ear will kill ear mites ... clean the ear ..put the ivomec in ...wait a couple days... clean the ear ...put ivomec in .... mites dead.... ears clean

for a simple cheap ear cleaning solution mix 1/2 white vinegar 1/2 rubbing alcohol in a squit bottle ...the vinegar changes the ph ...while the alcohol dries the ear ...its very effective and very inexpensive

The vinegar/alcohol solution is worth a try. I water mine down a little and put some iodine in it and it has cleared up all ear problems I have had.

Thats what I would have thought to,but none of the others have this crud in their ears, she shakes her head alot and if you rub her ears she just lays down like it's the best thng ever.

It could be a discharge from a yeast infection in the ear and the vinegar in the above mentioned solution will clear that up as well.

This sounds like ear mites to me also.

My dog has a lot of a dirty-wax build-up, not mites (it too is nearly black). I've just gotten used to using vinager & water and the corner of a wash cloth to get in there and remove this build-up; usually I have to do it weekly. I guess it's not too much different that when we get ear wax in our ears.

I tried the mixture ya''ll are talking about and my dog went nuts!! i didn't water it down though as some had said I used a dropper to put this stuff in there and then a wash cloth to rub it out as much as she would let me.but i saved the rest of this for next week to do it again.

Thanks Lonnie

Lonnie, I would water it down a little and use it a few more times this week. It is easy on the dogs and the vet that prescribed it to my buddy told him to do it three or four days in a row until the ear cleared up. If you can hold her still and put some in her ear and massage the base and keep her still as long as you can then stand back and let her shake her head then wipe out as much as you can. I have even reapplied it in the same day. Hope this helps.

Put some pressure with your thumb right behind her ears if she acts like it hurts the ear mites could have caused it to turn into canker ear If you can shine a light and look in the ear if it looks like puse and runny its canker ear And the black guie looking stuff around the inside the ear is 98% evidence of mites thier ears should be very clean (If the dog is shaking her head alot that is definetly ear mites or canker ear)

After my treatment last night with the mixture, today she is a different dog,she is her happy go lucky self,I'll treat her again in the morning with the watered down mixture and see if I cant get more of that mess out, thanks for all the input!!

Ear mites is probably the easyist to clear up but when it turns into canker ear its a little harder
