i am not trying to start anything with anyone or a pissing contest, but wanted to know which bloodline or for that which stud do you like to linebreed the tightest, i mean narrow it down, dont just say jack of all trades, do you like linebreed heli prop stuff, or lumberjack or copper boy or green bay shooter, i just want to know how everyone feels on tight linebreeding and to which dog you linebreed through? also what do you think is the best linebreed cross, half mates or uncle to niece, i am getting ready to do a daughter to a daddy cross, it will be harecharmer ringo 3/4, whats your thought. thanks for any input and please have respect for everyone that has any input. thanks

I say anything you like. Linebreed it as close as you like and monitor what you got closely. Linebreed the best of the best just like an outcross.
My opinion is the strongest linebred hounds have the best potential as great outcrosses in the future. JMO.

i know that you should breed what you like, but i guess i should havee stated more clearly what linebreeding have you had the most success with as far as breeding to get a,b,c and actually getting a,b,c. just wondering if for example some dogs produced better then others while being linebreed tight, also could poeple tell me linebreedings that they have made and what the good things where and what the bad things where also, thanks

I have really liked what I've seen out of two solid hound bred together that are uncle X niece or nephew X aunt crosses. I also really like a half brother and half sister cross. Within the next year, two max, I plan to due all three crosses. I am also thinking about taking a son (Spooke) out of Rip and a Buzz female (Morgan) back to his momma in a few years also. I've also thought about taking Rip to his daughter of him and a Buzz female (Morgan). These two crosses make me smile and tingle all over. Other than these crosses I will make the first three crosses I mentioned when I feel the time is right in what I want to bring out in my hounds. I'm setting up about 7-10 different crosses that I hope will give me results for the next 20 plus years. Of course these crosses will take place over the next 10 years possibably. I'm doing this using hounds from
LP GRCH Perkins Run-N-Gun Buzzsaw and
FTCH Awful Bawlin Let Er Rip. So far I'm really liking what I have out of Buzz and 4-6 of his grand pups. I'm seeing a lot of consistancy with the traits and abilities that suit me. I'm planing to linebred Buzz the tightest over the next 5-10 years. I think I may even get crazy enough to take a Buzz male (Pride or Dusty) back to there pups from the uncle X niece crosses before they get too old and kick the bucket. I feel that will really put the linebreeding of this line to the test. However, I feel totaly confident that everything will be just fine in the pups and they should turn out to be huntin, runnin fools for years to come.

IFC MJR Mitsou Argenteuil Striker (deceased)
IFC Green Bay Shooter
Striker passed away four years ago but he'd be my number 1 pick to linebreed of him.
Shooter would be my second pick.

I made a half brother X half sister cross out of two Reggie dogs about a month ago and I am planning on keeping the whole litter to see how they turn out and if they are to "MY" liking I might take a female out of that litter back to another Reggie male that I have or who knows, maybe back to the old man himself. Not trying to please anyone else just myself.

My 2 cents & nothing more:
A father / daughter cross is considered in-breeding not line breeding.
A grandsire/ granddaughter or uncle/ niece or two dogs with common ancestors within the last 5 generations is line-breeding.
One intensifies traits good & bad (in-breeding) The other should produce a more "consistant" litter (Line breeding)
Experiance says if you in-breed keep close tabs on the whole litter & cull agressively if & where needed.
My last line -breeding was of two dogs that had the exact same grandsire top & bottom (4 ways) Sires & dams of both dogs bred were all FC's. This litter tured out well. True line-bred dogs.
I dont have the time to start a whole litter & cull like I believe responseable breeding requires of tightly in-bred dogs. I'm certainly not condemming the practice in anyway. In-breeding has worked extremely well for some.
Keep us posted & let us know how you make out.

Nothing technical, over analyzed, just flat out results and straight to the point. Next best producer out of the Branko Kennel.
LUMBERJACK!
Just for the record my style and preference only!
