Ticks came out on my side of the Ridge today, I worked three young bitches the better part of the day & got covered, will know to wear protection next time, I wasn't ready for the littel devils today. Guess chiggers, skeeters, fleas & the rest of the pest clan will soon follow. No more peace until a late October frost.

My wife had 2 on her from cleaning out the flower beds around the house last Saturday. Looks like they are crawling again in North Carolina as well. I was hoping that the snow and colder weather would have eradicated a few, but it looks like it had no affect. I have to spray pesticide this week I have orders from the boss ! Dang nasty parasites !

I don't think they ever left. I lost a bitch for about a week a month ago. It was during one of the coldest periods this winter with temps in the twenties. When I found her, I picked her up and noticed a bump under my finger. I checked and she had one about the size of a small pea and several smaller. She was so debilitated from going without food that I was indecisive as to whether I should dust her to try to kill the ticks. I was surprised that ticks would be a problem in the middle of the winter.
