custom built 4 hound truck box

Post by Rabbit Fever »

We built a friend of mine a spiffy brand new 4 door dog box for his truck. I had some leftover 1x1 square alluminum tubing from a dogbox i built last year. So we figured up a plan that would fit his truck, started cuttin and welding, Hopperhunter did the welding we wanted it to stay together :D I can't weld alluminum :( after 4 days of building and making small changes so it would fit his truck better and look good it was done. Fully insulated and weatherproof. We used dense pink foam for the insulation and the shell was fiberglass board or milkhouse board. I think it turned out pretty good.

Looks pretty AWESOME to me!! I like how he still has most his truck bed to use underneath the box.

Great idea! You can leave that one in most of the time unlike the other box styles!

Nice yotes in the background... too bad they aren't of the bigger variety...

That's a great idea. Looks really good.

great idea, you may have started a new trend, I have never seen a box like that. I would venture to say you might start seeing some more designed like that around soon!

If you turned the doors around, instead of swinging side to side you could hang them on top so they swing down with a cable stopper on them. Keith.

Rabbitfever, you guys did a nice job on the box. Here is the pics I took from our rabbit hunt at Larry's Good Time Saloon 1st Annual Rabbit Hunt. For those reading this Rabbitfever and his crew on the left won the 4 man divison with 13 Hare and the two guys on the right Butch Saari and Joe Kuklenski won the 2 man Division with 7 Hare. Good job. Tom I hope you guys had a good time and hope to see you again next year. Sorry the pics are not that clear. It was getting close to dark and this is pic was taken from a phone. Dave

Jim it is in Hurley, Wi. just off the Wi/Mi border. both states participate in this hunt. this year the 4 man team winners hunted in Wisconsin. and the 2 man team hunted in Michigan. We will be hosting this again the first weekend in February. Its a great time. We had Breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening and did a drawing and everyone went home with a prize. Next year we are thinking of purchasing some guns for raffle prizes. I'll be posting an ad again for this hunt next year. I think I put it in the wrong forum. I'll post it on the "Just Talkin Dogs" so more see it. Dave
