I regretfully have to announce that J.B Maynard one of the most dedicated Patch enthusiasts has decided he can no longer contribute to the patch breed. After almost 20 years yes 20 years of studying and throughly investigating pedigrees and hounds. He intensily studied every breeding he was contaplating weighing the pros and cons of each. He was second to none on his intentions of bettering the patch breed. The last I talked to him this afternoon he was considering the Northway breed,Branko breed and leaning heavily toward the Swartz's Bigtime breed.

I've got a good freind that has some of the top old style brace hounds in the country . He has crossed his best stud to his best prize winning females and has a litter of 10 ,6 week old puppies . He has offered to me for JB the first 2 picks from this litter . I've tried contacting JB to set up a time for him to come down and pick his pups . I'll let you guys know how this turns out .
Just to add a little more , I understand when you get to be JB's age it hard to keep up with the hard hitting , hard driving never stop hunt from these little Patch dogs , figured it was comming , think I can round up a cane & walker to go along with the brace dogs or he can borrow my dad's hov-a-round it's got mud tires on it too !!
Good luck JB on what ever direction you decide , Rod & I will still call you our Pal . ;-)

Funny. Randy, when can I take a look at those brace hounds? Seriously, I plan to breed my Patch female to a Northway hound when she's ready.(Sometime this month). Now if I bred her to a Big Time hound, I could understand if my Patch buddies quit running with me, but since I'm taking her to something respectable maybe they won't snub me too much.

Watch the age comments, I'm a little sensitive about that.

J.B. we have been down this road before my Bigtime dogs against your Patch dogs same outcome each time. But if you would like I'll call Jill 2 weeks in advance and ask her if you can run. We can even make it when Rod comes down so he can have a shot at the title to.

Look out Rod, those Big Time hounds of his are pretty tough...........for about an hour.

You better give her about three weeks notice Don, she's got me booked up pretty tight.
