all i have to say is gor-tex. we ran today in the solid rain around 4hrs not a wet place on me. i fish alot of bass tourneys and the frogg toggs are good but dont see them lasting a day in the woods. i may be wrong, but the material would catch every briar just by looking at it. i have bass pro 100mph suit cuts wind, rain and turns briars pretty good to. i already had the suit before dogs. dont know that i would go out and buy one to run dogs in because a little pricey, but what ever you get just get gor-tex lining.

thanks.as far as goretex in boots i've had several pair and all i can say is"thank goodness for muck boots"i do remember my dad having a goretex suit about 15yrs ago and he swore by it.i'm not one to sit in the truck,i like to go watch 'em,and i'm tired of being wet and miserable,so in the next few weeks i will be purchasing rain gear, and i want it to be a purchase like my mucks, something i haven't regreted for a second.so all opinions and information is appreciated.hey Eddie, did Pauls have much of a slection of different gear?Stacy bought him a coat there two weeks ago before a trial, paid eighty bucks for it,and he was wet before winners pack was over.(and you know they weren't taking that long to look at 'em LOL)i'll have to ask him what it was so i know what Not to buy. Thanks guys

Columbia or Carhartt
Here is one I have Warm But not Hot have not got Tore up yet in the thick stuff..Lots of Good Stuff From Carhartt..
http://www.carhartt.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... &langId=-1
Also have a couple these just for wearing around the farm and Runnin Dogs not as heavy and have had a couple snags but didnt seem to hurt it Stay REAL dry in it And it is lightweight..
http://www.carhartt.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... &langId=-1
Neither are CHEAP but then again seems you get what you pay for..
I Have used a lot of the Columbia Stuff when was in Oregon REAL good but Seems a little heavy and Warm for around these parts priced about the same....

If you are going to be in the briars much, the only stuff that has held up for me is Filson Oil Cloth.
They dont claim to be %100 waterproof, but are close to it.The Filson stuff is very rugged, and doesnt wear out easily. If it starts to leak, you just put some oil on it to seal it back up.
Ive had the frogg toggs, and still use a Goretex Suit for fishing. They are great for fishing, but briars will ruin both kinds in 1 trip. I used to put the Frogg Toggs on under my wicks stuff, that worked pretty good, but it was too hot in a summer rain.

If you really want to stay dry take a look at Helly Hansen Impertech. It's what alot of Alaskan guides use. I have the bibs and jacket and they are great. I don't think Frogg Toggs would hold up.

I have to second the rivers west. Best stuff I ever owned. Go to their website and view the testimonials. I was hesitant at first because of the price but I have no regrets now and will be purchasing another coat and possibly pants soon. As far as tough, they show 2 guys trying to puncture it and they can't.
