Sunday we hit up a farm that I know in Pike County Mo. I'm only allowed to hunt this property twice a season that is what I and the land owner agreed on to ensure we leave plenty for seed and so far it has worked great.
All it is....is a long wood strip that is so thick you can hardly walk thru it. You got corn all around that has been picked but plenty left on the ground from the combine. A creek runs thru the property and also their is a small pond in the back part of the area. All that = a great recipe for lots of bunnies.
On this day both hunters took limits with a 5 dog pack. We just took our time and soaked in the hunt cause season is coming to an end on Feb 15th. At one point and time we sat down on a hill side and just listened to the dogs pound the snot out of multiple rabbits at a time. While I was sitting on the hill I counted 3 different rabbits going every which way. We let them run for a good half hour got up and opened fire.....lol guns a blazin and lead a flyin. We some some nice jumps by my daisy dog followed by sight chase. I saw multiple sight chases and leah retrieved a few for us so we didn't have to go and pick it up ourselves.
Plenty rabbits left for One more hunt. We didn't cover all the ground yet either still got the entire back to hit.
