Took the day off to go rabbit hunting today with michael and what a day it was. I had hunted on michaels property last season and was invited back for another hunt. I'd like to thank Michael for having me and my pack of beagles out for another wonderful rabbit hunt. I was also glad to meet Michaels friend doug on this hunt. I hope you guys enjoyed the action packed races we had today as much as I did. Thanks again for having us out. - Joey

We had a light rain overnight making scenting conditions today near perfect with a gray cloudy overcast. Them hounds ran those rabbits head held high running as fast as their legs would let them. I've never seen em run that fast before. A total of 22 rabbits was jumped today and we were able to knock out 21 rabbits. Not to bad and we owe it to one amazing pack of females that were on the ground today. We droped them out around 7:45am and had non stop action one after another.

Yep you guessed it I caught another rabbit no shots fired. Not kidding he was alive and trying to kick out but I had a tight hold on him and he wasn't going anywhere. thanks to daisy for letting me know where he holed and keeping him their till I was able to catch him as he came flying out the other side of the hole. They ran this rabbit up and down that hill for about a half hour to 45minutes before he holed. They were pushing him fast with very little checks constant pressure.

The dogs jumped about 3 or 4 out of this ditch. Daisy was doing a great job at jumping them today.

joey with your leah dog dont look like your getting no exercise wit her bringing them back to you so if you would like i would take her off your hands lol thats some real nice dog work there thanks for posting your hunts

What size hound is Leah?

Dale I'm not sure how tall she is. If I had to guess she is a 14" bitch. Never had her measured. She's not small and she's not big.


I'd also like to let everyone know that these 21 rabbits went to michaels family members. Michael waited for me to come out their with my dogs just for a hunt like this. We only gonna hit this farm this one time till next season and we'll do it again. I was happy to help them fill their freezer with good rabbit meat. The best one is that one I got with my hands....lol Nice and clean meat. It was a good day of rabbit hunting I must say. Everyone had fun got to do some shooting and listened and watched some awesome dog work. Them guys had a blast. Thats why I love rabbit hunting so much meeting people hunting different properties and just overall enjoying the day outside walking around in good company of friends.

Great hunt and nice highlights. It sure is nice to have the dogs bring em back for ya. I have two (father/daughter) that will bring them back. Only problem is that they sometimes fight over it to see who gets to do it. They don't fight each other but tug and pull on the rabbit. Every once in a while the field dress it for me to when they fight over it . It is really nice when they are in really thick cover. Instead of having to go in there to get the rabbit they bring it out! Any way nice hunt!

Joeyman have you been doing any barking when you caught these rabbits? You know that very much more of this rabbit catching and your fans will expect it every time .

I drove 130 miles one way yesterday to have 10 races and get 1 rabbit.

I thought to myself " I'm about 1/2 way to Joeyman's. I should've just made a long weekend out of it!

If you are serious, I wouldn't mind planning a trip fall 2010. It will take that long to get my 3 dogs in the shape they'll need to be to hunt out in Mo.!!!

Lets keep up om this and plan a 3 day weekender or something like that!

i'd recommend you come early in the season. around november or early part of december. i'll have plenty places to take you. Its been rabbit after rabbit every season I can't promise ya limits every time but we should get into a few I would think.
