how is the running in melting snow? Any good or is it not so good. Their is snow on the ground now lets say 8inches or so. And temps will be in the mid 30's above freezing how do you think running will be in those conditions.

well as you know, you will never know unless you get out and run

i would think it would be good running as long as it doesnt get too warm and melt too fast and cause standing water.

Joey, here in NW Indiana when we get snow I pray for melting snow. It is usually the best running of the year, 1) You know if there are rabbits around by their tracks and they are usually out of their holes. 2)Every dog I've had just burns them up when it's thawing!!! I've seen rabbits run through 3 inches of standing water and the dogs blew through it like the scent was thicker than pea soup!I'm going tomorrow but have to go about 50 miles south where there is about 8 inches of snow. We have 15 inches and it makes it pretty tough. Temp is suppose to get to about 30 degrees. Of course the rest of the week it is suppose to be above freezing but my wife is going in for back surgery on Wednesday so I will be playing nurse for several weeks and won't be able to go!

above freezing with moisture on ground usually equals some good scenting conditions. Melting or wet snows I have always had good luck in.

Melting snow is good, when in the winter I always pray for it to get warm enough for it to start melting because the scenting conditions are great,it holds the scent to the ground. So to answer your question joeyman if it is warm enough to melt the snow you should have a GREAT DAY. Keith.
