I don't know the bloodlines you might be referring too. I know the ones I will name aren't from the U.P. that I'm aware of, but here goes nothing. Haunted Hills, Striker, Ranger Dan, Awful Bawlin (which most are out of the Striker and Haunted Hills) Paycheck, Lake Omgenaw Casey, Branko........... I'm sure I'm missing some... but thats all I can do.

I have seen some dogs that are heavy Muskie Lake stuff and they are great. That is all I have personally seen go but there are a lot of great dogs from up there and those guys breed for nose power.

Well, I know they're deceased, but wasn't Mt. Zion Pete, Trigger II, Dagwoods Labaan, or basically the Homer Lamar stuff all from the U.P.; and whenever anyone talks about bloodlines & what they go back to & the greatest producer of all time; isn't it Mt. Zion Pete?

all of my dogs are have casey breeding except one and he's linebred paycheck. check out my website you can see my dogs. They have plenty of hunt, and pretty good noses I guess. I have a whole new meaning for the word "nose" after watching a certain dog(This is just one particular hound not a line) running this year. I'm not even gonna get into it, but yes i feel my casey dogs in particular have very good noses. I'm sure the guy that owns the dog i am talking about above would agree.

thanks for the posts guys, hope to get lots more.down here in Ky there's not alot of people who have actually had these bloods,so there really isn't many i could ask and get acurate information.the numbers at the trials(mid-west)are down so low that it's reaaly limited to the type that shows up down here.thanks again to all who have posted.

Your probably right Shawn he can't be called one line of anything but In the grand sceem of things I guess if I had to say this dog your talking about is line bred anything, I would have to say he's "IFC Mt Zion Pete" bred. It's way back there but both his sire and dam were line bred off Pete. Nose, patients and brains all have to cometogether for this dog to do what he does. His dad is about the same way if not better than him so I'm taking a couple females back to him because he most always seems to produce these same traits in his pups.

Every hound in my kennel has just about all of those great hounds in there breeding, Little Cedar River, Birch Lake Texas T, Birch Lake Mic, Colby Hill, Schnapps, Doms Dougie, Sand County Bailey, Ables East Coast, Townlines Johnny Paycheck. All of the old stuff is really hard to find now a days, I like this bloodline because they have awesome hunt and desire, but i think there are not to many of us left with that bloodline. The bad thing is once its gone its gone for good. If anybody has this bloodline please let me know I have an excellent bitch that i want to breed as soon as she comes into heat. My males are to closely related to use as stud.
