Pick a Stud!

I thought this might be interesting so here it is. Just wondering which studs in the past 10 years to present pass on certain traits to their pups consistently. I am not asking this for breeding purposes just a discussion starter. I am not asking for the complete package although that is what we should look for in a stud. But like I said this is not to find a stud to breed to just for some conversation. List which stud you think passes on the 1) The most extreme hunt 2) Big nose 3) Line control 4) Speed. Not all of these in one package but if you wanted nothing but hunt who would you breed to. If you only wanted a big nose and cared about nothing else who would you breed to and so on for each of these 4 traits. Thanks for looking and sharing.

I liked FC Drew's Blue Storm as a Stud, he threw a big nose and good line control. I have several in my kennel that are out of him or go back to him and I like the patience , line control and brains that they show. Not real flashy dogs, but dogs that can run on any day out.
IFC Dirty Pond Legacy Blacky. I have two males here out of blacky and both are solid although there running styles are not alike at all. One has a huge nose and the patience to walk a track out, with medium fast foot speed. The other has fast foot speed, close in the check, but powerful with it. I liked them both well enough that I have pups on the ground out of the faster one, and pups on the way out of the one with the huge nose.
I also liked HOF GRRCh Swartz Briar Patch Biff as a stud, he just threw straight up rabbit dawwgs, I had a kennel full of dogs out of him at one time and it was by far the best pack I ever had, they werent the fastest but they could check you to death and they could run it too. All but one of them were true jump dogs also.
Of course both Biff and Storm are dead, but their blood still lives on in my kennel.

FC Wookie, FC Larsen Jackson and IFC Green Bay Shooter. I've seen every trait that was mentioned in these three hounds. I've seen bout 20 pups out of each of these stud dogs.

PCH GRRCH CH Durbin Valley Hitman Hart He is the most consistent stud i have seen! He puts hunt into his pups and the best thing is he puts his lock on ability (line control) in his pups!

It's an old hunting adage that the qualities your looking for comes through the bitch line...the dog for stature and masculinity...

I would have to go with Ranger Dan.....
He was noted for putting hunt, nose, and line control. Most that I have seen were not extremely fast, but made up for it by controling the line and quickness.
Does anyone know if Tom kept any staws off Dan?

Do you know how many Bramlett females he was bred to?

Smiths Gay Bud, and Randalls Gay Diamond, were full littermates.
They both put the qualities that were mentioned in their pups consistently.
H.O.F. Cheat Mt. Gay Bake is another that threw these qualities in his pups that have done well over the last 10 years.

honestly no. i wont make a guess but im sure its an incredible amount. maybe tony upton could make a guess???
as you know and have read on the boards in the past, he was used a lot and is still very close in the breeding in a lot of dogs. the sire to my TOM dog was littermates with GRIZZ and i know there are quite a few direct offspring of GRIZZ around.
