Joeyman, not to get off topic but with all that travel and cost hope you have harvested enough bunnies to help out with the food bill. LoL. Just out of curiosity aprox. how many have you gotten this year and do you eat them all or give them away. I wish we has a rabbit population around here like that and I had the time to hunt that much.

I second that.
I have not logged any where near that many miles in the last two years combined and that includes a couple of hunting trips down to Mississippi and Gary Indiana. We have lost most of our local hunting grounds to construction but if I had the hunting grounds and the rabbit population I would be glad to log a lot of miles.
I started hunting with a .410 this year, just spent $60 on 5 boxes of shells. different subject sorry. travel at least 75 miles each weekend to find rabbits. I havent found anywhere close that I can hunt since we moved. Still have to go to the old home place to hunt. lots of miles.

75miles thats a breeze for me. I go sometime 90miles one way turn around the next day and go 90 miles in the other direction. You have to get away from St. louis it is big and lots of houses and business you have to do some traveling to get away from all that. Their are some spots closer to home that is only a 1/2hr drive one way. I like those hunts........

chuck i've still got several acres to hunt just call me when the weather breaks (because of my hand i'm trying to stay in)
Joey not only do I want to hunt with you but I want the same job you have too.Seem like everytime I turn around,I v got to work and I am the boss. Its nice to see someone living it up.You go Joey.I used to do the same until I said I DO.Keep bringing the hunt and pic on.Thanks
I will admit that my job slows me down from traveling too far too often but I could probably make more of an effort to take a couple of trips too. I have spots fairly close to home and have the luxury of knowing quite a few people so getting permission on land isn't always that hard for me. Plus my dad and uncles were always respectful of the places they got to hunt in years past so my last name helps sometimes too. And having buddies with spots is always a plus.

I do all my rabbit hunting on a 4 wheeler. I bought a Rubicon in june of 07 and have almost 10,000 on it now. i can safely say that 9000 of those are from running dogs.
I hunt in local counties surrounding me. I at least put 500 miles on my tundra this season. I bought a case of shells in November a d went thru two boxes so far. I nick pick my shots and try to only shoot only once. Try to save shells and money.
9000 MILES SINCE OCT THAT ALOT TRAVEL IM SURE GLAD I LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN GOT 20-25 PLACES TO HUNT WITH-IN 10 MILES THAT A WEAR A TRUCK OUT JUSY RABBIT HUNTIN QUICK I FEEL FOR YA IF I HAD TO DO THAT I'D PROB MOVE SAVE ALOT OF MONEY BUT WE ALL SPEND IT SOMEWHERE I GO 5-8 TIMES A WEEK AND I HAVENT PUT THAT MANY MILES ON MY DOG WAGON IN THE 8 YEARS I'VE OWNED IT INCLUDEIN DEER HUNTING lol
I have 3 vehicles. The truck is for hunting only and running dogs when season is out. Thats what I bought it for and thats what I use it for. St.louis is big you have to get away from it and drive out far to get into good hunting. And I only hunt twice a week. Try and go every saturday and sunday. I don't mind driving a little so we can have some nice hunts. And I like to hunt several different spots too. Not sure i'm going to hunt this weekend suppose to be in the negitive numbers and we are going to get hit with a snow storm later tonight. Not sure I want to go out in that. Probably wait till it warms up a bit. The weather guy said suppose to be like powder and friday its going to be windy and will blow the snow around something along those lines and I heard whiteout conditions cause of the wind. Gonna be fun.....
I bet the hardcore field trial guys put on more miles than me.
