That is your opinion and you are welcome to it but I only shoot 10 hare or so a year, I do run dogs just to hear em' sing and see how long they can keep the hare going. Saturday I went out for a 3 hour trip, took a little over 1/2 hour to hike to the spot, another 10 minutes or so to get a start then they ran it pretty well for the next 1.5 hrs with a few breaks downs. I saw the hare a few times through breaks in the cover but they were running it so well I could bring myself to end the race too quick. Finally they ended up going into a hard check and I called them off it. Believe it or not alot of us prefer the chase more than the kill.

Like that guy from Missouri! Not tryin to start world war 3 but lets see some rabbit pics from 2009.

LOL You wont start a war that post its just laughable to me. I havent even had a gun with me but twice this year and didnt bother shootin either time and I have PLENTY of game here and dont have ANY trouble finding it. My advice to you would be to not open your mouth about people you have no idea about. I also dont shoot coyotes either and I coyote hunt VERY hard. I like to watch the hounds run and catch. I hunt for catches and dog work not to shoot game.

I run dogs most days all year long, but shoot only a few each year. Not all of us need the gun to enjoy the chase. To each his own.

i really do run the dogs for the music. i do like to take one every once in awhile but it doesnt matter to me and believe me i find game every time i go out. for example yesterday the dog was on the ground from 9:30 until 4:00 and only about 1hour and a half he was not on a rabbit. i had one knock down race with him solo then met up with a couple guys that didnt know i was out there running. the first bunny we joined together on got shot then the last bunny of the day we ended up running for over 2 hours. no joke, i couldnt believe it, it was snowing and i dont think it would hole up. they had constant pressure on the rabbit the whole time. i finally had to head home and go catch the dogs up. if we would have killed it the dogs would have never gotten to have that kind of run out of a cottontail. two weeks ago i ran 4 days out of the 7 and ran 13 bunnies with none shot. half of them were hour runs. i dont like to kill the bunnies who give us good chases. i also carry a .22 pistol so i have to pick my shots wisely

later, dave

You Coyote hunt very hard but don't shoot em/ And your advice is to not open my mouth? You maybe a very good hunter with ZERO evidence?

LOL What do i need evidence for? To prove to you I'm a very good hunter? LMAO Have fun hatin on others for enjoying hunting a different way than you see fit. (with a gun) I dont need evidence I hunt for the love of the hounds and the music and certainly dont need any evidence to prove what type of hunter I am.

By the way I didnt say you werent entitled to your own idea of what makes you and your dogs go but to call out others for not killing game makes no sense. Wether you believe it or not (dont care) some people hunt for the love of hounds and taking game means VERY LITTLE>

If it was all about just killing rabbits we would get the mouthiest dogs we could find and shoot every stray that happened past us, then we could go home and brag about all we shot

You mean I have been feeding the best feed I can. Building the best dog boxes. Spoiling the heck out of them ,and Im doing it all wrong by not shooting all the rabbits they run.. Man I feel stupid. I sure hope they will forgive me for just loving to take em out and watch them work and not taking the gun with us.

MY MAIN REASON FOR OWNING BEAGLES IS I LOVE LISTENING TO THE RACE THATS WHAT IM IN IT FOR THATS WHAT MAKES RABBIT HUNTING EXCITING TO ME I LIKE EATING RABBIT BUT NOT AS MUCH AS LISTENING TO MY HOUNDS I MAY SHOOT 2 A YEAR WITH MY 410 PISTOL IF I WAS IN IT TO KILL ALOT OF RABBITS I WOULD PULL OUT THE 12 GA. GET ME A WALKING STICK TO HIT THE BRIAR PATCHES 1 DOG THAT PUSH THEM OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND FIRE AWAY LOL! WOULD GET MY LIMIT EVERYTIME OUT
