12-19-2009 Rabbit Hunt in the Snow...Got my MO Limit

We got a chance to hunt in the snow today. We had about just over an inch of the white stuff on the ground. Turned loose the dogs and it was a little tuff going at first. The dogs didn't have a clue how to run the rabbit on snow. I'd just get some sqeaks and squawks out of them on the first couple that got up. I just keep telling them to find it and get him and helped them along the path and just like that a light bulb turned on in their little heads and it was on. Don't know why they were not wanting to run them at first on the snow but once they figured it out the running was decent. My little pup lightning led the pack on several of the runs she's only 7 months old. Must be that hare blood in her. Overall it was fun only thing I didn't like was getting wet up to my waist and freezing out there. I had the heater on the truck all the way on full blast for the ride home. My gloves got wet and my fingers froze couldn't even open the truck door. Thought I had frost bite....lol
If I had to choose to hunt in snow or no snow..............I'd pick NO SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!
enjoy the pics and video. We should of had several more but it was tuff going in the morning and a few they couldn't run. Some ran better than others.
