I just log out of my home states deer hunting forum and let me tell you they really know how to alienate somebody just for the style that you choose to hunt.I know that dog hunting for deer is'nt leagle in all states, but it is in mine.ALL you here in this forum made me feel welcome, because it is not what you hunt but the love we share for our little beagles.THANK YOU!!! :D :D :D

Don't mention it swampthing. Stay around this board and you may pick up a few dogs for free. I know I would rather send you a dog that runs deer that I can't break, than what I have had to do in the past.

Amen to that Acomeau. A good trailing hound is something to cherish. If one man can't use him, odds are another man can.

Anyone remember when beagles on fox was a big, big sport? Still done in certain parts of the country and Canada.

I know your pain. I too am a deer dog man or was anyway. I still hunt that way but no longer own dogs. Well, I might once again this summer. Just to let you know, I read your forum and I agree with you. SOme folks are stupid to facts and one bad apple shouldn't represent us all.

I agree with Masons Beagles! If you can't get a dog broke off rabbits give me a call. Especially if there Redticks or Blueticks  No all jokes aside a good bred dog should run whatever you teach him to run. I'm Deer crazy when season gets here. Take a weeks vacation every year! It's not legal in Ky to use dogs but if was legal I'd have me some dogs to do the job. I had a redbone coon hound that could flat put one of them big cottain tails in the wind but that was when my father-in-law talked me in to trying coonhunting. I decided it was gonna be beagles or coonhounds. ;) Ya I've still got my beagles!

thank you for making a beagle man feel wecome

Hey! I have one of those FREE DEER BEAGLES right now! 6 year old male that I took on as a mercy mission, and just can't break him off deer. He's a great little hound, and you can trust me when I say he can run deer. He actually prefers them to rabbits! Any of you guys interested in such a hound, send me a private message and I'll give you the whole story behind this little guy.

Swampthing, Stick around, the people on this board are as good as they come as you will see. Deer dogs are illegal here in NY, but I imagine it must be a blast to hunt them that way. I think a lot of what you are seeing from other groups (deer hunters (and I am a SERIOUS deer hunter!) is simply a majority thing. It's the "The majority doesn't hunt with dogs, so why should you" mentality! All I can say is this.... If it is legal to hunt deer with hounds where you are, and you enjoy doing it... GO FOR IT! And have fun doing it.

Amen Bob! We should support all game hunting with hounds. They banned hunting large cats with dogs in Washington state. Ask Jack Kaiser how well that worked out.

If I find the picture of the big cat ambling through that lady's backyard, :yikes: I'll post it.
