Beagle Club in South GA

I was just wondering if there would be any interest from any South GA beaglers in joining a club around Tifton. Seems to me that there are enough "Deep" South Ga beaglers to have a club. I know there is a club in Glenwood and Statesboro, but none any further south. Right now there is no room for new members in South East Ga so people like me really have no place to join. Just wanted to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

I wouldn't know where to start. How many members would it take to start one "Right"? For me, it doesn't necessarily have to be a sanctioned ARHA or AKC club right away. I know there is probably alot of red-tape to go through for that. If one could be started and gradually become sanctioned, that would be fine. How could we find members? Thanks.

I think you are on the right track Chad - Get the group first and go from there. I would think you could start an ARHA Club with 10 - 15 good, active, members. We are up to 37 members and have applied for AKC affiliation to hold SPO trials. If you are interested in ARHA PP, email me and I will give you the phone numbers of our state reps (Ernest Lovern and Eddie Mitchell). I am sure they would be willing to answer your questions and help you with the process of forming a club if you want. They are currently helping start another one in the middle part of the state. If you all decided to go with a more conservative beagle, Ed Taylor from Lott's Creek (Statesboro) would be a good one to talk to. Keep us posted I would like to come to your events if you get something going.

lee ga, make sure one of you calls Darren Tyler. His # is in my reply above. Also you might give my friends Allen Cochran and his son a call. They live in Waycross which is an hr. or so away I guess. They may be interested in helping out? (they are into beagles & like the field trial idea) 912-283-0318.

By the way, hope you guy/gals will consider Progressive Pack format. There are a good many other clubs that are Progressive Pack in GA and it would be nice to have one down your way. About 7 clubs I think at this time with another on the way.

Wayne
Call Earnest Lovern, State Representative for Progressive Pack at 770-787-9205 and he will fix you right up.

i have their names written down. if something concrete comes together, i'll give them a call. i would like to see it happen. regardless if we are recognized by a registry or not it would still be fun.

lee ga,
Those guys may be part of the concrete. Call them. It is simple to get an ARHA/NKC club started. Just do it!
