I have fed Diamond, green bag 26/18, for about 12 years with very good results. 50 lb bag cost $26.34 with tax included. I like Black Gold also, but it is a 40 mile trip to the feed store where it is sold.

I had the same issue with it...Take care of yourself on the deployment.

Boy.... the subject of dog food is real frustrating to me. I feed Exceed yellow bag from Sams. I like it. Doesn't create too much waste. From the good reports I hear about Black Gold and Diamond, I'd like to try them. They seem like they'd be a step in an even better direction. But then I hear one bad report after 100 good reports and that wipes it all away. It is so frustrating. Seems like every single dog food has someone shouting their praises, and someone else complaining about them.

That's why as long as you're happy with the results you're getting with the feed you're using I wouldn't switch. Now sometimes if there is a food that seems comparable and may save you some money then I could see trying it. But if you're dogs look and act healthy and full of energy and the waste isn't too bad then I wouldn't consider switching. I've noticed like you have that you'll get good and bad reports on every food out there so just stay with what works for you.

You get a lot better deal on torn bags than we get up here. I was in TSC to pick up some Diamond Hi-Pro and they had a taped up torn bag, the price on the torn bag was $20 compared to the regular price of $23.99 so you guys definitely get a much better deal than we do

I've been feeding EaglePack Power but everytime I go to buy a bag now the local distributor is out and complaining it's been on order for weeks and they can't get it :ashamed: Decided it was time to switch over to another brand, most food sold in stores is the low fat couch potato dog food so I was pleasantly surprised to see the 20% fat in the Hi-Pro  $23.99 for a 50 lb bag was much better too, the Eaglepack was $36.50 for a 40 lb bag and the recommended serving sizes were the same
