Coyote Question
Recently I visited a local WMA office and inquired about the rabbit population and hunting pressure. The officer mentioned that rabbits were hard to jump because they were usually wholed up from being pursued during the night hours by coyotes. Never really thought about this, the WMA is full of grown up field and brush piles, couldn't be better for the rabbit population. I guess I will find out tomorrow as we are hunting it for the first time. Anyone else ever experiece this.

coyotes
coyotes are so thick where i live in northeaster ky rabbits are not nearly as plentiful as in other places. they say its loss of habitat a lot of the times but we have acres and acres of overgrown fields that loook perfect. go out at night and alll you hear is the howling of coyotes. i decided this winter if i was gonna rabbit hunt i had to kill the coyotes so i bought a digital game caller with remote and am going to see how many of those devils i can kill... i've seen there tracks in the snow that lead to blood spots with rabbit hair so! go figure

It's always better if you go with another person when coyote hunting and always watch downwind of you a coyote or a fox either one will always circle down wind of you before they come in. I have also trappd a lot of coyotes using rabbits that i have found run over in the road and if you use cage traps be sure to kind of camoflouge them after a couple times becouse they don't call him wiley coyote for nothing. You can also use a teddy bear when calling them in just any kind of brown rabbit sized teddy bear with a string attached to it if any of this is legal in your state i would sure give it a try it's very fun fast paced action hunting.
