How do you guys handle running at locations near RR Tracks, highways, Busy County Roads etc. In other words, great spots loaded with rabbits but also loaded with danger for the hounds.

Do you avoid these spots all together or do you make it work somehow?

Safety of my hounds are of the upmost importance,I have in the past ran close to a highway out of greed. That was years ago
It is not worth it.Too many primetime spots are better just hard to get.

IMO, I don't take any chances. Yes, those places are full of rabbits but there's a reason for that.
I would personally rather run at a place that didn't have that many rabbits and leave with all my hounds in as good a shape as I arrived.

anytime i'm running near a main road i keep someone on the road to stop traffic if the dogs decide to get close. i dont run near main roads offen but i have made a few people mad by running in front of their cars when they are doing 55 or 60 down the road and they have to nail the brakes because im in the road. most people slow down when they see me or the truck with a dog box sitting there, but there is always a couple people that dont. ive been cussed at and flipped off more than once but i dont care if the dogs get close to the road i will slow the cars down weather they want to slow down or not. but the best thing to do is to stay away from roads thats what i do most of the time.
