This may have been on here before but I wanted to share a flea remedy i found on another forum.
Have any of you tried the Bayer tree and shrub on your dogs?
The fleas got pretty bad here and I tried this stuff after tring some other "flea treatment" with no luck. The next day there was NOT A SINGLE flea in sight!!!!!!!!!
I used 1CC/ 10# and you can get it at Wal-Mart or home depot for around 20.00 for 32 oz.

Did you use the Bayer Tree and Shrub with fertilizer? I have used the other type but can't find it without fertilizer this year.

You use it just like you would use Frontline or any of the other flea treatments. Just put it on the back of the neck under the hair so it makes good contact with the skin. I put about half the dose behind the neck and the other half on the back close to the tail. May not make a differance (probably dont) thats just how i've always done it in the past.
Its suposed to last 1 month according to everybody i've talked to.
I didnt use the one w/ fertalizer. Not sure if the fertalizer would hurt the dogs or not (may turn em into coon dogs

). To start w/ i bought the one w/ fert. but then I got lucky and found 5 bottles of old stock (w/o fert.) on the back shelf in Lowes. Im going to use the one w/ fert. to spray around the kennel though.
Theres another brand thats put out by "Gordons" thats the same ingredients as the "bayer" but w/o fertalizer.

We tried it this year as a spray and it has worked really good. Just mixed it up with water and sprayed it from a squirt bottle.

Finding the Bayer without fertilizer is getting to be rare.........if a place has it, it's stock from last year since Bayer has added fertilizer to it.
Old Dominion Tree and Shrub and Gordon's Tree and Shrub (Tractor Supply) is like the original Bayer Tree and Shrub version.

thr tree and schrub is only 1/6 as potent as advantix/advantage---active ingredient is imcloparid(miss spelled i am sure)
frontline is 9.8%fipronil
this stuff is 9.1%fipronil---almost exact stuff
http://www.pestproductsonline.com/produ ... -14-0.html
i have bought it and love it,tick bites and is dead with 4 hours--ya need 24-36 hours for tick to transmit diseases like lymes.
it does kills fleas but does not do much if there are eggs laid.frontline uses methroprene(missprelled iam sure)
to battle the fleas eggs and larvae i use this stuff
http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/Pure ... 5QodqHub-A
i just add it to s thier shampoo or mix with mineral oil and spray them,,,,leave them out to dry
havent had any problems this year and for 65 bucks i have enough bootleg frontline to last me and my three dogs forever
