A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
she is a mess. she loves the dogs. she has one that we need to get started. Ill post a picture of our first hunting trip. she loved playing in the creeks and mud. she was muddy from her head to her toes. i bought a dog last week and showed her a picture of him on here. I asked her what she thought and she got a serious look on her face and said "I think he will make us a pretty good ole rabbit dog". I about died.... LOL Bobby Vest said shell be a dog trader for sure....lol
She is a beautiful little girl, and she's a real trooper too. She went running with us and she didn't complain. We stayed quite a while, when she got in the truck it only took her a couple minutes and she was asleep. I love her like she was my own. It's scary though she is way too smart for her own good.
When it comes to kids and hunting it's never awaste of time. You always know that they are staying out of trouble. It's when they get older you have to worry
One of my boys got into coon huntin.......We thought, well. ther's alot worse things he could be doing at night!
I honestly think it kept him out of trouble..well.... most nights anyway!!!!!!

This is the best post going! Anytime a kid wants to be involved with our hobbies and interest is a good thing. That means rabbit hunting will survive one more generation in your family. Who knows how much trouble and headache we may have escaped simiply because somebody took an interest to us and the outdoors.
My 4 year old puts out corn for the rabbits, helps feed the dogs (make a mess), and rides with me down dirt roads. He calls that hunting. LOL I let him do as much as he wants to do within reason. He even has a single shot .410 that he likes to look at.
After reading some of the other post, I have come to one conclusion; your daughter needs to post more often.
Here is a picture of Makayla and her dog Jetta on both of thems first trip hunting. Jetta had never been out and stayed with the dogs the whole time. I mean the whole time and we ran for a long time. Makayla had mud on her from head to toe and a few minutes after this photo was taken she was out like a light. She had a blast. My dog Bandit that was lost last hunting season we would let him out last summer and hunt him behind the house. Makayla watched how I worked him and I saw her last summer hunting him down the fence row like she had seen me doing. She got a little far from the house and her mom yelled for her to come back she came stomping back and said "But Mom I Was Hunting Dogs". I was never prouder.
Oh Yeah Jetta is double Chester Bred out of Krissy and Big John Henry.
